Well, I DIDNT buy Lindsey when she first came out and I paid the price to get her....
Marisol will do nothing but go UP in value.... She would be a good investment ,and I doubt you would lose anything reselling her after shes retired!
I am considering buying Marisol, but only because I'm thinking she will go up in value in the next year and I will be able to sell her for more than I purchased her for and make a little profit. I was wondering is this a bad idea? Am I apt to actually lose money? I'm just looking at the Kailey's and Lidsey's and wondering if it would be stupid not to jump on the Marisol band wagon.
hmmmmm.....

Even if I would ONLY be buying her to resell. She is not my favorite and I would never consider buying her if she were not a limited deal.
Well more people are probably going to do as you do... they've seen Lindsey and Kailey's prices and hope to sell Marisol for major profit. But I'd bet the prices are still going to be great- with great gain- for Marisol in 20 months or so. New people are constantly coming to AG and will want Marisol when she's gone. You surely won't lose money!
I personally couldn't do it. Too many times growing up I was the first to miss out on something (often it was a kids thing that adults saw a profit potential for, as in this case) and I just wouldn't be able to stop thinking about the girl I "stole" Marisol from just so I could sell her for profit.
I never thought of it through that perspective and it really struck a chord. I don't want to take a doll from a little girl who would love her and I would just have her sitting in her box, just for the sake of money. You are right I think, I will stick to the dolls I love.
Used AGs with awful haircuts and missing limbs often go for as much as $70 on ebay. I imagine a mint in the box marisol will do nothing but go up in value, although I doubt as high as kailey and lindsey, because more people are buying just to resell.
These girls, even in a very preloved state, retain their value.

For many other things- like auditioning when you don't really want a part, or applying to a program. But that really is something to think about. Thanks for posting it.
